Umpqua River Lighthouse
Umpqua Lighthouse Road
Originally the first lighthouse in the Oregon Territory. Was built in 1857 near the mouth of the river. It was undermined and destroyed by flood in Feb. 1864. Rebuilt here in 1891 and completed in 1894. It shines a guiding light to all mariners.

Built in 1939, the US Coast Guard station at Winchester Bay is home to the Umpqua River Lighthouse Museum. Hundreds of documents, photographs, and artifacts illustrate the story from its early existence as a U.S. Lifesaving Station to present day.
